About The Service

Q: What exactly does The Holiday Edit do?
A: The Holiday Edit is a boutique holiday styling service based on Long Island. We design and professionally install Christmas trees, mantel displays, and garlands in private homes and select businesses. Think of it as bringing in a stylist for your holiday space — someone with a trained eye who handles every last detail so the finished result looks beautiful and intentional.

Q: Is this like a decorating company?
A: Not exactly. The Holiday Edit is a boutique styling service, not a large decorating or lighting company. You’re hiring Kristyn’s taste and design eye — it’s a personal, hands-on service with a limited number of clients each season. Every installation gets individual attention.

Q: Do you work with businesses as well as private homes?
A: Yes. The Holiday Edit works with a select number of businesses each season, including boutique retail shops, medical and dental offices, real estate brokerages, salons, and professional service firms. Business projects are quoted individually based on the scope of the space. Reach out and we’ll talk through what’s possible.

Q: What type of businesses do you typically work with?
A: Boutique retail, medical and dental offices, real estate brokerages, salons, and professional service firms are the most common. If your business has a client-facing space where the holidays matter and the details need to look polished, we’re likely a good fit.

Q: Do you only do Christmas trees?
A: Trees are our signature service, but we also style mantels and garlands — and can combine all three for a cohesive look throughout your home. Inquire via the contact form if you are interested in additional decorative elements.

Q: Do you work with artificial trees or real trees?
A: We work with artificial trees. For tree styling packages, the client provides the tree assembled and lit. If you’d like us to source and deliver the tree, that’s available as part of The Complete Edit.

Q: Where are you based and what areas do you serve?
A: The Holiday Edit is based on Long Island, NY. We primarily serve residential and business clients across Suffolk County. If you’re outside this area, reach out — we’re happy to discuss travel and availability.

Packages & Pricing

Q: What’s the difference between The Classic, The Signature, and The Statement?
A: All three packages deliver a professionally styled, portfolio-worthy tree. The difference is in the depth of layering and the signature elements added. The Classic is a beautifully finished tree with a cohesive palette and ornaments. The Signature adds ribbon and picks for the layered, dimensional look most clients love. The Statement goes further with oversized statement ornaments, custom ribbon, layered greenery accents, and a designer topper — the fully realized version of the vision.

Q: What is The Restyle?
A: The Restyle is a styling-only service for clients who already own a tree and their own décor collection. We work with what you have, arrange it with intention, and leave your space looking the way you always wished it did. No new décor is included, but we can quote additional pieces if you’d like to supplement.

Q: What is The Complete Edit?
A: The Complete Edit is our full-service option — we source, deliver, and install the tree, lights, and full styling. You handle nothing. You walk into a finished holiday space. It starts at $2,500 and is custom quoted to your space.

Q: How does pricing work?
A: Pricing depends on the size of your tree, the package you select, and any add-ons. The Services page lists starting prices for each package and size. All final quotes are confirmed after a brief photo exchange or consultation — no surprises.

Q: When should I book?
A: As early as possible. Installations run from early November through mid-December, and the calendar fills up quickly — especially for the Thanksgiving weekend and first two weeks of December. If you’re thinking about it, don’t wait.

Booking & Deposits

Q: What does the retainer cover?
A: A 50% retainer is required to hold your installation date. It’s non-refundable because it’s applied directly to the cost of sourcing and ordering your specific décor — ornaments, ribbon, and accents that are curated for your space. The remaining balance is due at the time of installation.

Q: Does the décor belong to me after the installation?
A: Yes — all of it. Ornaments, ribbon, picks, topper, and accents are yours to keep. They become part of your holiday collection and can be refreshed or added to in future seasons.

Q: What if I need to reschedule?
A: Same-season rescheduling is accommodated whenever possible, subject to availability. We ask that you let us know as early as you can so we can do our best to make it work.

On the Day

Q: What do I need to have ready before the installation?
A: For tree styling packages, your tree should be fully assembled and lit before we arrive. Clear a reasonable path to and around the tree, and that’s really it. For The Complete Edit, we handle everything from setup to styling — you don’t need to prepare a thing.

Q: Can you assemble and light my tree as well?
A: Yes — tree assembly and lighting installation is available as an add-on to any styling package. If you’d like us to handle setup before styling begins, just mention it when you reach out and we’ll include it in your proposal. It’s the easiest way to hand the whole thing off completely.

Q: How long does an installation take?
A: Most installations are completed in a few hours. The exact time depends on the scope — tree styling alone takes less time than The Complete Edit. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate when your appointment is confirmed.

Q: Will I need to be home during the installation?
A: It’s entirely up to you. Some clients enjoy being home during the installation, while others prefer to leave and return to a beautifully transformed space. As long as we’ve discussed your vision in advance and we have access to the home, we’re happy to work whichever way you’re most comfortable. If any design questions arise during the installation, we’ll reach out to you before making a decision. Before we finish, we’ll either walk you through the completed space in person or share photos if you’re away.
